If your spring cleaning routine doesn’t already have a dedicated bedroom deep clean, take this as your sign to add it to your to-do list this year! This easy bedroom deep cleaning checklist will have your space tidied up and feeling fresh in no time.

Declutter

Start by picking up any trash that has accumulated and getting rid of any extra clutter that doesn’t belong in the room. If clutter objects are simply out of place, put them back in the right drawer; if the clutter belongs in another room, place it in a basket to be moved later. A good rule of thumb for a clutter-free space is that any object that isn’t decorative should be stored out of sight whenever possible.

Clean The Ceiling, Walls, Doors, and Lights

With the clutter removed, move all of the furniture away from the walls and begin by dusting the ceiling, walls, lights/fans, and doors with a microfiber mop. Once you’ve dusted, use a clean microfiber mop head to lightly wash everything you just dusted. If your ceiling fan/light fixture has many small parts, you may find it helpful to take a microfiber cloth and cleaning solution to the light.

Deep Clean Your Bed

Begin by stripping the linens off your bed and washing them. This includes any throw pillows, blankets, mattress covers, and the bed skirt! If something cannot be washed, give it a good spritz of linen spray regularly. Next, sprinkle baking soda on your dry mattress and allow it to sit for 10 minutes before vacuuming it up. Note: be sure that your mattress is totally dry before dusting it with baking soda. Vacuuming up wet baking soda can harm your vacuum. Remake your bed once everything is clean!

Clean the Windows and Coverings

Remove any curtains and wash them or take them to the dry cleaners. Next, dust the blinds and use glass cleaner on the windows themselves. If it’s been a while since you cleaned your window tracks, be sure to wipe those out as well.
